Didn't have the mood and strength to blog ever since i came back from ventures group camp. Seriously, it drained all my energy. To make things worse, the 2 nights before camp started, i didn't sleep!!! 0.o It's a miracle i never collapse.
First day was spent at Ubin. We got split into 2 groups, Malaysians and S'poreans. S'poreans rawked man (cos i'm there.... teeheehee)... Given a short while to set up our shelter, WHICH WASN'T EVEN A PROPER TENT! Yea.... we were supposed to sleep on ponchos, with a groundsheet over our heads. It was super open to creepy crawlies. Yuck. Cooked our lunch after that using twigs and wood to set up a fire. Our group successfully managed to "roast" a whole chicken(with a carrot stuffed up its backside) Lol... It was goood.... Really good.
Had some kinda "amazing race" around the island under a heavy downpour. Good thing we had our ponchos, but stiil got drenched EVERYWHERE anyway. The race really forced me to step out of my comfort zone, especially the part where i had to climb a tree which had an ant nest?!? Anybody who knows me well enuff knows i hate hate hate anything with 6 or 8 legs, mainly insects. I will basically freak out. Weiyu can testify for that. During our VOPF night trail sometime back, the guy, out of good intention, warned me about a cockroach near my leg. I almost jumped onto him. Poor thing... Haha... yes. My insecto-phobia is THAT bad. Anyway, david didn't allow me to pass, so i had no choice but to climb. ='( It was really tough, cos the branches were so far apart and ants were like crawling on my arm. Took a lot of willpower to stop myself from just letting go and falling to my death or sthg. =P So i ended up just screaming "ahhhhh" the whole time. Anyway, our group was faster and had more time to prepare our dinner. We were not allowed any utensils, so we cooked on bamboo and in coconut husks. -.-"
Whole group of us settled near our fires after that to basically just chat, joke around and bond while we tried to dry off our rain-soaked shoes and socks. Really crappy and fun. Lights out at 11.30, but i couldn't sleep a wink cos of all the bugs and mozzies invading the tent. Oh yar... and the ants there are really commando ants man... They can crawl up out trackpants to attack us, and their bites are super painful. Just when i was about to doze off, they told us to pack up cos we're changing campsite... AT 2 AM IN THE MORNING?!? Whatever lah. Had to be ready to go within minutes and our load was damn heavy... Carried until my fingers became numb. Set off for our "new" campsite. The leaders walked so fast we had to run to keep up. By that time, the lack of sleep was getting to me. Was basically just running on adreneline. Halfway thru, they made us do a solo nightwalk which was pretty freaky, cos i kept thinkin there was someone watching me from the trees at the side. =X Man... i really need to do sthg to make myself less timid. Our final campsite was the highest peak of Ubin, with a fantastic view of the quarry below. By then, everyone was so tired that they fell asleep on the ground despite the fact that it was infested with killer-ants. Some of the "S'poreans" (mervyn, Jeremy, Weiyu, grace and I) decided to just play with mosquito coils and try burning leaves with it. Talk about being childish. Haha.
Left the island early next morning and headed to Kallang Sea Sports Club for our dragonboating. It was fun lah... But i ended up aching everywhere after that. Shoulders, back, waist, backside, leg.... cos we had to use our muscles from all these parts to row the boat. And yes... I finally got to re-tan myself... I like my colour now... okay.... mebe except for my face, which is chao tah... Duno what happened to the sun block. I left camp early right after DB cos i had a family gathering to send my father off before he goes to Cheena (again) with my grandma on a holiday. 3 days w/o sleep....i couldn't take it anymore.... so i dozed off on the bus although i desperately tried to keep myself awake by pinching myself. Yea.... but to my horror, i woke up to find my head resting on the shoulder of the ah-pek sitting beside me!!!! He looked equally as petrified... Omg.... So malu. I mumbled an apology and didn't dare to look in his direction anymore after that.

CO concert today, went to support Gina tgt with Wanleng, Ah-mah, Rachel and Samo. The concert was better than last year... And Gina was da best.... Okay. I'm biased. Haha... Went to KFC with Rach for awhile after that to chill out.
I'm stilll suffering from the after-effects of camp... dun even have strength to hold the CC door open. My insect bites are itching up a storm... and my backside hurts like hell. I can't sit down properly... and i can't get up with ease from a sitting position. ='(
My CO ticket got mysteriously accounted for -.-" I still dunno why.
Going out for buffet with some ex-st'nix ppl tmr. =) Yay.
